SERVICE

What Is On-Site Interpreting?

On-site interpreting involves the physical presence of a professional interpreter at the location where the event or meeting takes place. It is essential for situations where clear, fluid, and context-aware communication between speakers of different languages is required.

The physical presence of the interpreter allows them to directly observe meeting dynamics, non-verbal cues, and interactions among participants, enabling them to effectively manage technical terminology, provide real-time clarifications, and adapt to changes in register.

When You Need an On-Site Interpreter

  • Commercial negotiations and discussions with foreign partners
  • Court hearings, depositions, and legal proceedings
  • Corporate meetings and management assemblies
  • Inspections and international audits
  • Trade fairs, events, and workshops with foreign attendees
  • Meetings with foreign suppliers or clients
  • On-site assistance to foreign delegations
  • Medical consultations, notary appointments, or official sessions with public authorities.

Available Interpreting Modes

Consecutive Interpreting

The interpreter listens to the speech or conversation and translates after each segment or pause. Ideal for small meetings, bilateral negotiations, court hearings, and one-on-one sessions. Requires no technical equipment.

Simultaneous Interpreting

The interpreter translates in real time as the speaker talks. Requires a control booth and specialized equipment (headphones, receivers). Ideal for multi-language conferences, conventions, and assemblies.

Liaison / Whisper Interpreting (Chuchotage)

The interpreter whispers simultaneous translation directly into the ear of one or two listeners. A discreet solution for mixed meetings where only a few participants do not speak the primary language.

How the On-Site Interpreting Service Works

    The 4-step process

    1. Initial Briefing

Prior to the meeting, we collect essential details regarding the context, participants, topics to be covered, and required linguistic register. Whenever available, we provide the interpreter with technical documentation and reference materials.

    2. Interpreter Selection

We assign each project to the most suitable interpreter based on language pair, industry domain, and event type, ensuring deep subject-matter expertise tailored to your session.

    3. On-Site Presence

The interpreter arrives at the venue as scheduled and works in close coordination with our dedicated Project Manager. For multi-day or multi-session events, we can manage interpreter shifts.

    4. Post-Meeting Debriefing

At the conclusion of the event, the service wraps up according to the agreed client parameters. Follow-up support activities can also be arranged for ongoing requirements.

    Available Languages

We work with professional interpreters covering major European and non-European languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Romanian, Albanian, and many others. Contact us to check availability for your specific language combination.
